One of our valued clients, a leader in landscaping, construction, and facilities management, is seeking a Head of QHSE with a strong background in QC management, particularly within the construction and landscaping industries. Candidates with experience in landscaping companies are preferred.Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic QHSE Leadership:
- Collaborate with the President and senior management to create and implement the QHSE strategy.
- Establish key performance indicators and targets for QHSE policies and procedures.
- Cultivating QHSE Culture:
- Develop training and guidance programs to embed a strong QHSE culture throughout the organization.
- Ensure employees are well-informed and understand their responsibilities within the QHSE framework.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Implement systems to monitor, measure, and analyze QHSE performance.
- Regularly report on QHSE compliance and progress, using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Audits and Compliance:
- Approve and oversee the annual audit program for system compliance and technical standards.
- Ensure audits are well-resourced, conducted thoroughly, and followed up with corrective actions.
- Incident Management:
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, identifying root causes.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness.
- Competent QHSE Team:
- Ensure QHSE personnel across departments and projects are experienced and qualified.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development to maintain a high-performing QHSE team.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Establish a structured program for continuous improvement through regular reviews of QHSE performance.
- Drive the implementation of improvement initiatives based on these reviews.
- Budget Management:
- Work with department managers to develop and manage the QHSE budget.
- Monitor expenditure to ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Serve as the primary QHSE representative, liaising with clients, regulatory bodies, and third parties.
- Foster positive relationships and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Project Management Excellence:
- Integrate QHSE principles into all stages of project management, from planning to execution.
- Ensure that safety, quality, and environmental considerations are prioritized in all projects.
- QA/QC Oversight:
- Implement robust quality assurance and control processes within projects.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and promote continuous improvement in project deliverables.
- Risk Management in Projects:
- Oversee the integration of risk management strategies into project plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively manage risks.
- Environmental and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that projects comply with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Oversee environmental impact assessments and the implementation of safety protocols.
- Project Reporting and Documentation:
- Establish reporting mechanisms for QHSE performance on projects.
- Ensure accurate documentation of QHSE activities, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Project Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with project stakeholders to communicate QHSE requirements and address concerns.
- Maintain alignment with project goals and QHSE standards.
- Tendering Support:
- Provide guidance on QHSE requirements during the tendering process.
- Ensure that bids meet client expectations and comply with QHSE standards.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001.
- A Master’s degree, MBA, or PhD is a plus.
- Experience:
- 10–15 years of experience in Management System Implementation, with a strong background in QHSE leadership.
- Strategic leadership and the ability to influence and convince in complex situations.
- Advanced expertise in quality management, project management, and continuous improvement.
- Competency in financial literacy, cross-cultural communication, and effective report writing.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage change and develop talent within the team.
