Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy advanced load balancing solutions for internal and external applications.
• Configure Layer 4 (L4) and Layer 7 (L7) load balancing, SSL offloading, traffic steering, and health monitoring.
• Integrate load balancing with application firewalls, reverse proxies, and security appliances.
• Manage and optimize load balancer configurations to ensure peak performance and minimal downtime.
• Monitor traffic patterns, identify bottlenecks, and fine-tune rules/policies.
• Apply patches, firmware upgrades, and capacity planning for load balancing devices and services.
• Implement and maintain SSL/TLS certificates, cipher configurations, and security best practices.
• Work with the security team to protect against DDoS attacks, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, and zero-day threats.
• Partner with application, network, and DevOps teams for seamless integration and troubleshooting.
• Provide Level 3/4 escalation support for load balancing and related networking issues.
• Document architecture, configurations, change logs, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• Deep knowledge of at least one enterprise load balancing platform (e.g., F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM, Citrix ADC, HAProxy, NGINX Plus, Avi Networks, Kemp, Radware).
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, HTTP2, QUIC, and related networking protocols.
• Experience with WAF integration, Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB), Content Switching, URL rewriting, and traffic redirection.
• Familiarity with cloud-native load balancing services (AWS ELB/ALB/NLB, Azure Front Door, Google Cloud Load Balancer).
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform) for automation.
• Exposure to Kubernetes ingress controllers and service mesh traffic management.
• Understanding of monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus) for performance tracking.
• High-level security knowledge, including encryption standards, secure architecture design, network segmentation, and advanced threat mitigation strategies.
• Intermediate networking experience (IP Addressing, VLANS, routing, …)
• Intermediate Firewall and network security experience (Polices, NATing, SSL offloading, …)
• Application Security concepts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant certifications preferred: F5 Certified Technology Specialist (LTM, GTM), Citrix Certified Professional – Networking (CCP-N), AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud Networking certifications.
• Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience in load balancing and application delivery technologies.
