Job Description:
A Technical Product Owner (TPO) is a specialized role that bridges the gap between technical teams and business owners, mainly THE CLIENT business analysts. The TPO should ensure alignment of service delivery with business needs from both technical and business perspectives.
The TPO should have strong skills in tools, techniques, and service integration, and good understanding of development methodologies, to effectively guide the development team during the implementation process.
The Technical Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritizing the technical aspects of the product backlog, supporting the product owner and ensuring that the development teams deliver a high-quality, technically robust product that aligns with the business vision needs. The TPO combines a deep technical understanding with strong product management skills to bridge the gap between THE CLIENT business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Technical:
- Collaborate business owners (THE CLIENT and internal teams) to define and complete all technical unclarities, including on the business logic and service usability on the draft BRDs, before they will be assigned to the development teams. Similarly on the CR requirements and on the external partner interfaces.
- Ensure that the technical direction aligns with the overall business needs.
- Identify and analyze technical risks and challenges that could impact the delivery of the product, high accessibility and jeopardize future proof.
• Backlog Management:
- Support for defining, prioritizing, and managing the technical backlog, ensuring that it is transparent and well-understood by the development team. Drive and maintain the technical dialog with the business analysts to solve any unclarities on behalf of the development teams.
- Support product owners by technical details point of view on the Scrum ceremonies.
- Prioritize technical debt, architectural improvements, and infrastructure needs alongside feature development.
• Collaboration with Development Teams:
- Work closely with the development team and external technology partners to ensure they understand the technical requirements and constraints of the product.
- Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making, ensuring that the team is aligned with the technical approach.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning sessions as needed.
• Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the single point of contact for the technical challenges in collaboration with the architects, engineers, and IT teams. Internal and external teams.
- Translate complex technical concepts into language that is accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the technical progress of the product and any potential risks or issues.
• Technical Product Delivery:
- Ensure that the technical implementation meets the defined acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and help resolve any issues that arise.
- Validate that the product’s technical aspects align with the broader business objectives and customer needs.
- Oversee the deployment process, ensuring smooth and successful releases.
