Our Client
On behalf of a Digital Transformation Company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, we are currently looking for a Google Cloud Architect to be based in Athens, Greece
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), its services, and best practices specifically for data projects.
- Leading the design, development, and delivery of GCP infrastructure and applications, focusing on data migration and data-related services like Compute Engine, App Engine, and Cloud Functions.
- Performing migration discovery, assessment, wave planning, and executing data migrations, ensuring a seamless transfer of data to GCP.
- Ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of GCP infrastructure specifically tailored for data projects, following industry standards and best practices for data management.
- Developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code (IaC) specifically designed for data projects, using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or similar technologies to automate data infrastructure provisioning.
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing the performance of GCP-based data systems and applications to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
- Collaborating with development teams to implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for data projects, utilizing tools such as Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab to enable smooth and automated data deployments.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to Google Cloud architecture and multi-cloud strategies, with a focus on data migration and data management.
- Providing technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to other team members specifically in the context of data projects and sharing knowledge across the organization to foster a data-driven culture.
- Participating in post-sales activities related to data projects, including client meetings, presentations, and proposal development to ensure the successful adoption of GCP for data migration and management.
- Demonstrating experience working in Agile project management methodology and SCRUM framework, with a focus on iterative data migration and data-related deliverables.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification or equivalent certifications are highly preferred, with a specific emphasis on data-related certifications if available.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in architecture, with at least 3+ years of experience specifically focused on Cloud Platform data projects and data migration.
- Strong knowledge of GCP services relevant to data projects, such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Dataflow, and other data-related services.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or similar technologies, tailored for data project infrastructure requirements.
- Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines for data projects using tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab to ensure automated and efficient data workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with an emphasis on applying these skills to data migration challenges and opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork and data-driven decision-making.
