 Job Opportunity: IAM Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled IAM Engineer to join our IT Security team. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and enhancing our Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform, based on Microfocus NetIQ. You will support operations and change management across a complex IAM environment, with opportunities to grow into development and architecture responsibilities depending on your skills and ambition.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Management

• Configure, tune, and customize the Access Manager platform
• Operate and maintain the IAM deployment across multiple environments
• Support integration of new business applications and IT systems into the Access Management solution
• Provide technical support and maintenance for IAM components, interfaces, and services
• Test and validate configuration changes, patches, and upgrades
• Investigate and resolve IAM-related incidents
• Optionally:
• Lead updates and patching with external service providers
• Design and implement new IAM processes and features
• Participate in IAM-related projects

Platform Enrichment

• Design and develop Identity Management and Governance workflows (e.g., approvals, provisioning)
• Optimize user provisioning and access governance through custom code
• Configure and tune integrations for new applications in the NetIQ Access Management platform
• Tune and manage the NetIQ Privileged Access Management (PAM) platform

Quality Control & Collaboration

• Contribute to IAM audits and compliance reviews
• Coach team members and foster collaboration across IAM initiatives

Requirements

Hard Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Informatics
• Strong knowledge of directory services
• Familiarity with web technologies and protocols (SOAP, REST, Java)
• Experience with J2EE application server administration
• Proficiency in Red Hat system administration
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript, Bash)
• Nice-to-have:
• Experience with NetIQ development and configuration
• Familiarity with Identity Provider (IDP) systems

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT
• Excellent command of English; Dutch and French are a plus
