Job Title: OpenShift Consultant (Multi-Cluster Deployment, Migration & Disaster Recovery)
Job Summary
The OpenShift Consultant will lead and support the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise-grade OpenShift environments across multiple data centers (production and DR). The role requires deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift 4.x (including OpenShift Virtualization), advanced cluster management, persistent storage integration, and cross-site DR planning and testing.
The consultant will also participate in the migration of existing workloads and applications to the new containerized platform, ensuring high availability (HA), scalability, and business continuity through multi-cluster architecture and site-level failover designs.

The OpenShift Consultant will lead and support the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise-grade OpenShift environments across multiple data centers (production and DR). The role requires deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift 4.x (including OpenShift Virtualization), advanced cluster management, persistent storage integration, and cross-site DR planning and testing.
The consultant will also participate in the migration of existing workloads and applications to the new containerized platform, ensuring high availability (HA), scalability, and business continuity through multi-cluster architecture and site-level failover designs.
1. Design & Implementation
- Architect and deploy Red Hat OpenShift 4.x clusters across multiple sites with HA configuration for master and worker nodes.
- Implement OpenShift Virtualization for worker nodes and integrate with VMware-based master infrastructure.
- Configure persistent storage using the CSI driver to enable scalable and resilient workloads.
- Plan and execute application and workload migration from legacy environments to OpenShift clusters.
- Conduct compatibility assessment, containerization readiness, and performance validation.
- Support hybrid migration paths involving VMs, stateful containers, and OpenShift Virtualization workloads.
- Document migration runbooks and rollback strategies.
- Design and validate multi-cluster DR architectures spanning main and DR data centers.
- Implement replication, failover, and cluster synchronization mechanisms between sites.
- Support DR drills, recovery time objective (RTO) testing, and business continuity readiness for container workloads.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and storage teams for cross-site data consistency and recovery validation.
- Perform Backup for the Containerized Applications using tools such as (Kasten K10, Velero, OADP,..)
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, scaling, and patch management.
- Integrate monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) with OpenShift clusters.
- Provide training, documentation, and handover to operations and managed-service teams.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly service reviews, capacity planning meetings, and performance analysis sessions.
- 5+ years of experience in container orchestration with Red Hat OpenShift 4.x, Kubernetes, and OpenShift Virtualization.
- Proven delivery of multi-site or multi-cluster OpenShift deployments with DR and HA topologies.
- Expertise in integrating CSI driver for persistent storage.
- Solid understanding of migration methodologies (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, re-hosting).
- Experience implementing DR strategies (site replication, cluster failover, data resiliency).
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, and Terraform.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across the stack (compute, network, storage, OpenShift).
- Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (RHCSA/RHCA) or equivalent.
- Experience in GreenLake, Morpheus CMP, or hybrid cloud operations.
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere integration with OpenShift and HA topologies.
- Previous participation in large-scale migration and DR projects for banking or telecom or cloud service providers.
- Excellent communication and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Strong documentation, presentation, and customer facing skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-vendor and multi-cloud ecosystem under tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset with focus on automation and resiliency.
