3rd Line Backend Java & Oracle Database Support Engineer (m/f/d)

We are seeking an experienced *3rd Line Backend Java & Oracle Database Support Engineer* to provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization for critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in *Java backend development, Oracle database administration, and performance tuning*, ensuring high availability and reliability of our systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Advanced Troubleshooting* – Resolve complex *Java backend (Spring Boot, J2EE, etc.)* and *Oracle DB (SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning)* issues escalated from 1st/2nd line teams.
- Performance Optimization* – Analyze and improve *database queries, indexing, and Java application performance* to reduce latency and downtime.
- Incident & Problem Management* – Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for critical production incidents and implement long-term fixes.
- Database Support* – Monitor, maintain, and optimize *Oracle databases (19c/12c)*, including backups, replication, and schema modifications.
- Code & Script Reviews* – Validate and debug *Java applications, stored procedures, and SQL scripts* for efficiency and security.
- Automation & Tooling* – Develop scripts (Bash, Python, or PL/SQL) to automate repetitive support tasks.
- Collaboration* – Work closely with *DevOps, Developers, and Infrastructure teams* to ensure seamless deployments and system stability.
- Documentation* – Maintain detailed records of solutions, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience :
- 5+ years* in *Java backend development & support* (Spring, Hibernate, REST APIs, Microservices).
- Strong Oracle DB expertise* – SQL tuning, PL/SQL, partitioning, AWR reports, and performance diagnostics.
- Experience with *application servers* (WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss) and *CI/CD pipelines* (Jenkins, Docker).
- Knowledge of *Linux/Unix environments* and scripting (Bash/Python).
- Familiarity with *monitoring tools* (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, OEM).
- Understanding of *ITIL processes* (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
