Senior SAP Domain Architect (m/f/d)

Role Objective

Lead the SAP and non-SAP IT architecture for SNCB across end-to-end processes (Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash). Define and manage the strategic vision and roadmap to ensure a coherent, stable, cost-effective, and high-performing IT landscape aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Develop and maintain the multi-year architecture strategy and roadmap.
  • Communicate architectural direction across the organization.
  • Guide stakeholders, functional analysts, and technical architects to align with architectural standards.
  • Define and enforce architectural norms and document deviations.

  • Governance & Review

  • Prepare and participate in SAP Change Control Board and Architecture Council meetings.

  • Project Involvement

  • Validate business proposals and define SAP solutions and roadmaps.
  • Oversee solution design and development with Solution Architects.

  • IT Landscape Management

  • Maintain application and technology inventory.
  • Monitor and evolve the IT landscape in line with strategic goals.
  • Propose improvements and manage transitions.

  • Procurement Support

  • Advise on hardware, tools, and software licensing.
  • Validate technical specifications and assess vendor proposals.

  • Knowledge Management

  • Stay updated on SAP and IT trends.
  • Evaluate new technologies and ensure documentation completeness.
  • Share knowledge within the architecture team.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • 15+ years of SAP Financials implementation experience in Belgian companies, including public sector, MRO, and utilities.
    • Deep expertise in ECC and S4HANA (FICO, FICA), and integrated modules (MM, SD, PP, PM).
    • Preferably experienced with C4C, BRIM, Ariba integration.
    • Broad financial solution knowledge (treasury, consolidation, spend management, reporting).
    • Familiarity with project tools: ServiceNow, Jira, Xray, Solution Manager.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills with senior stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to lead full or partial financial projects.

    Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking

    • Define short-to-long-term IT architecture strategy.
    • Make strategic decisions across diverse architectural domains.
    • Advise on projects and procurement.
    • Proactively initiate architectural changes based on business and technology evolution.

    Communication & Collaboration

    • Fluent in Dutch or French, and English.
    • Able to present complex architectures clearly.
    • Regular interaction with internal stakeholders, procurement, legal/security teams, and external partners (SAP, vendors, user groups).
