We are looking for a Business Analyst - Payments to join a leading banking institution in Luxembourg.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement and optimisation of payment processes and services, with a particular focus on Instant Payments (SCT Inst) and the management of client payments within a live production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse, document, and optimise end-to-end payment processes, including SEPA, SWIFT, cross-border payments, and Instant Payments (SCT Inst).
Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into functional specifications and process improvements.
Act as the key liaison between Payments Operations, Treasury, Compliance, Product teams, and IT.
Provide subject matter expertise on payment processing, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and payment investigations.
Support the implementation and enhancement of payment solutions and regulatory initiatives.
Analyse payment workflows and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and client service.
Work closely with business and operations teams to ensure the effective execution, monitoring, and processing of client payments.
Support payment exception management, incident resolution, and operational improvements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, including PSD2 and ISO 20022.
Requirements
5+ years of experience within Payments, Transaction Banking, or Financial Services.
Strong expertise in SEPA, SWIFT, international payments, and Instant Payments (SCT Inst).
Hands-on experience executing and monitoring client payments within a live production environment.
Experience supporting payment operations, including payment investigations, exception handling, reconciliation, and settlement activities.
Solid understanding of the end-to-end payment lifecycle, from initiation through clearing and settlement.
Proven experience working closely with business and IT stakeholders on payment-related initiatives.
Experience with payment platforms, SWIFT interfaces, payment hubs, or core banking systems is highly desirable.
