Our client is looking for a Performance & Reliability Test Engineer to join a team delivering large-scale business-critical digital platforms. The consultant will be responsible for assessing system performance, scalability, stability, and operational resilience across complex distributed environments. Working within an Agile framework, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with development, platform engineering, and architecture teams to ensure applications meet demanding quality and reliability objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute non-functional testing strategies covering performance, scalability, availability, and stability.
  • Design and automate load, stress, endurance, and capacity testing scenarios.
  • Perform resilience and failure simulation exercises to evaluate system robustness and recovery capabilities.
  • Analyse performance bottlenecks and collaborate with engineering teams to optimise application and infrastructure behaviour.
  • Monitor test executions, track defects, and provide detailed reporting on system performance metrics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to architecture, processes, and testing practices.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in performance, reliability, or non-functional testing.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or equivalent.
  • Experience designing and executing resilience testing, fault injection, or chaos engineering initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and enterprise application architectures.
  • Experience working with cloud-native platforms, containerised environments, and modern deployment models.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and provide practical optimisation recommendations.
