Currently on the lookout for Senior Security Engineer's for 12-month extendable contracts in Sharjah. My client are a Government Entity so you will work a 4-day week Mon-Fri. Out of hours will be needed for this role on rare occasions.

Senior Security Engineer

Experience Required: 10+ years

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise security solutions and architectures.
  • Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel).
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls and security appliances (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Dell SonicWall).
  • Conduct regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into infrastructure and applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security staff.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
  • Proficiency with SIEM platforms and log analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Dell security solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  • Experience in penetration testing and ethical hacking methodologies.
  • Proven track record in leading incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK).
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or GIAC are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and secure SDLC practices.
