Currently on the lookout for Senior Security Engineer's for 12-month extendable contracts in Sharjah. My client are a Government Entity so you will work a 4-day week Mon-Fri. Out of hours will be needed for this role on rare occasions.
Senior Security Engineer
Experience Required: 10+ years
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise security solutions and architectures.
- Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel).
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls and security appliances (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Dell SonicWall).
- Conduct regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
- Lead incident response efforts, including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into infrastructure and applications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security staff.
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms and log analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Dell security solutions.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Experience in penetration testing and ethical hacking methodologies.
- Proven track record in leading incident response and forensic investigations.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK).
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or GIAC are a plus.
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and secure SDLC practices.
