We are looking for an Automation, Monitoring and Orchestration Engineer to join our client, an EU Institution.
Role Purpose
The ideal candidate will be an energetic person who will drive how to design and implement the monitoring, scheduling, automation and orchestration of the client’s Data center.
This person will interface with all the infrastructure and applications teams to define and ensure they have appropriate levels of monitoring and alerting set up.
Responsibilities
Maintains and provides improvements for BAU activities on the monitoring, scheduling and automation domain.
Works closely with the customer providing insight and new initiatives.
Assess use cases to develop workflows and scripts to automate the provisioning and maintenance of servers, services and applications, including, but not limited to, provisioning and de-commissioning of environments.
Develop standard operating procedures and user guides for the enterprise automation solution;
Perform monitoring & automation at large scale in an enterprise environment;
Continuously improve systems and processes in order to achieve greater levels of effectiveness and efficiency.
Work on shifts from 07:00AM to 07:00 PM and share on-call rotation with the team.
Requirements
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding.
Experience in an infrastructure monitoring / automation role.
Knowledge of Splunk, Splunk Observability Cloud - O11y, Control-M, AppDynamics.
Experience with Scheduling tools
Experience with databases: MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, Sybase, etc.
Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, Perl, etc.
Experience with source code and build tools, such as for instance GitHub, Azure DevOps, VRO etc.
Experience with multiple webs and J2EE technologies such as for instance IIS, Apache, Web-logic, Tomcat, JBoss, or Node.js.
Experience with Configuration Management / Orchestration tools such as Ansible
Experience working with a variety of vendor APIs, SNMP and handling JSON, YAML and XML result sets.
Experience of Linux Operating System (RHEL) and its fundamentals.
Windows experience.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills.
English fluently spoken and written.
Results oriented, self-learner, problem solver with 'can do' attitude.
