Role: Data Engineer

An experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise robust data solutions. This role involves working on scalable data platforms and pipelines, ensuring high-quality engineering standards, and contributing to long-term, sustainable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and Build Data Platforms: Develop and maintain scalable data architectures such as data lakehouses and warehouses.
• Develop Data Pipelines: Create robust ETL/ELT pipelines to support data integration and transformation needs.
• Implement Scalable Solutions: Build both batch and real-time (streaming) data processing systems.
• System Integration: Develop and manage integrations between distributed systems and data sources.
• Ensure Data Quality and Reliability: Apply best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance of data solutions.
• Adopt Modern Engineering Practices: Utilise CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code to enhance delivery efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate and Influence Design Decisions: Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve data engineering practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and improve existing implementations for scalability and maintainability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Expertise:
  Experience with modern data technologies such as Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Python, SQL, DBT, Airflow, Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Docker.

• Analytical Thinking:
  Ability to design scalable systems and evaluate architectural trade-offs effectively.

• Problem-Solving:
  Strong capability to troubleshoot complex data challenges and provide sustainable solutions.

• Communication Skills:
  Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate with stakeholders.

• Ownership Mindset:
  Takes responsibility for delivering high-quality solutions with a long-term perspective.

• Adaptability and Learning:
  Willingness to learn new tools and technologies and continuously improve skills.

• Educational Background:
  HBO

• Language Proficiency:
  Fluent Dutch is essential
