The Junior Data Center Engineer (Cabling & Infrastructure) is responsible for supporting the day-to-today operations of the Data Center, with a primary focus on structured cabling, physical infrastructure, and IT equipment installation. Working under the supervision of senior engineers, the role contributes to maintaining a reliable, organized, and efficient Data Center environment while ensuring compliance with operational standards and best practices.
The position involves assisting with network and server hardware installations, cabling activities, inventory management, and logistics coordination within the Data Center.
Key accountabilities:
• Structured Cabling & Physical Infrastructure:
○ Install, maintain, and organize copper and fiber optic cabling within the Data Center
○ Perform network and server patching activities following established procedures
○ Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, and documentation according to industry standards
○ Assist in maintaining clean and well-organized racks, cabinets, and patch panels
○ Support cable testing and basic troubleshooting activities
• IT Equipment Installation:
○ Assist with rack-and-stack activities for servers, network devices, and related IT equipment
○ Support hardware installation, relocation, and decommissioning activities
○ Verify physical connectivity and ensure equipment is installed according to design specifications
○ Assist with inventory management and asset tracking
• Data Center Operations Support:
○ Monitor the condition of Data Center infrastructure and report any anomalies
○ Support routine operational activities and preventive maintenance tasks
○ Escalate incidents and infrastructure issues following defined procedures
○ Assist with logistics activities, including receiving, unpacking, and moving IT equipment between Data Center locations
• Documentation & Compliance:
○ Maintain accurate records of cabling layouts, equipment installations, and inventory updates
○ Update operational documentation and activity reports
○ Follow Data Center operational procedures, safety regulations, and security requirements
○ Ensure adherence to cabling standards and Data Center best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
• 0 to 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, telecommunications, Data Center operations, or cabling environments
• Previous hands-on experience with structured cabling is considered an advantage
• Basic understanding of LAN networking concepts
• Familiarity with IP addressing and Ethernet connectivity
• Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling technologies
• Understanding of Data Center components such as racks, patch panels, switches, and servers
• Experience using basic cabling and installation tools
• Awareness of Data Center environments, power distribution, and cooling concepts is a plus

• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Structured Cabling or Fiber Optic Certification
• CCNA or equivalent networking certification (completed or in progress)
• Data Center-related technical training is an advantage
Mandatory Requirements:
• Working onsite in Luxembourg
• You are able to work in shifts (7 AM – 8 PM) and 24/7 support on call
• Fluency in French (written and spoken) is required
