Position: Business Systems Analyst – Fund Administration Technology
Overview
Our client, a leading global financial institution, is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join its Technology and Business Analysis team. The successful candidate will act as the link between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business requirements into effective technical solutions. The role focuses on supporting Fund Administration and Transfer Agency platforms, managing system interfaces, analysing data, and ensuring successful delivery through testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from key stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Act as the main interface between business users, development teams, and third-party vendors.
- Support change requests, system enhancements, and application improvements.
Fund Administration & Platform Support
- Support Fund Administration and Transfer Agency applications and processes.
- Analyse existing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications and interfaces.
- Ensure business processes are accurately reflected within technology solutions.
Interface Management
- Support the design, setup, maintenance, and monitoring of application interfaces.
- Investigate and resolve interface-related incidents.
- Validate data exchanges between internal and external systems.
- Ensure interface reliability, data quality, and operational efficiency.
Data Analysis & Testing
- Use SQL to query databases, extract information, and validate test data.
- Create and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production validation.
- Analyse test results, identify defects, and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
Technical Support & Validation
- Work within Linux environments to execute and validate interface processes.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system and integration issues.
- Support implementation, deployment, and release activities.
- Maintain documentation covering business processes, interfaces, and testing procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
Business & Functional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Fund Administration and Transfer Agency processes.
- Experience working with investment fund or financial services platforms.
- Ability to analyse complex business processes and translate them into technical requirements.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT and MX messaging standards.
- Experience designing, configuring, or maintaining system interfaces.
- Good SQL skills for database querying and data validation.
- Linux knowledge for executing and validating interface processes.
- Experience with software testing methodologies and quality assurance practices.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Ability to create comprehensive test cases and testing scenarios.
- Experience with System Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience within Asset Management, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, or Banking environments.
- Knowledge of financial messaging, settlement processes, and investment operations.
- Familiarity with Change Management and Release Management processes.
- Experience working within regulated financial institutions.
