A large international public sector organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening cooperation, security, and resilience across multiple member states. The organization operates complex IT and cybersecurity environments and is seeking a Security Engineer to support the automation, management, and continuous improvement of its security infrastructure and vulnerability management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop custom scripts and automation solutions to streamline security operations, integrate APIs, analyze data, and improve operational efficiency.
- Deploy, administer, harden, and maintain Linux, Windows, and VMware ESXi server environments.
- Configure, manage, and support network security infrastructure including firewalls, VPN gateways, routers, and switches.
- Manage the end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle, including identification, assessment, prioritization, remediation tracking, verification, and reporting across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Coordinate remediation activities with infrastructure, development, cloud, SOC, compliance, and external vendor teams to ensure timely resolution of security issues.
- Produce technical documentation, dashboards, security metrics, vulnerability reports, and operational procedures while supporting the design and deployment of scalable cybersecurity services.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong expertise in Linux, Windows, and VMware ESXi administration within enterprise environments.
- Advanced scripting and automation experience using technologies such as Python and Bash, including API integration and data processing.
- Solid knowledge of network security principles, including TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and secure network architectures.
- Experience securing and managing cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure, as well as modern technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management and security tools such as Rapid7 Nexpose, Nessus, Splunk, ServiceNow, and Jira.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity and threat management concepts, message broker technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, Google Pub/Sub), and workflow automation between platforms.
