Security Risk Manager (m/f/d)

A leading national organisation operating critical infrastructure and digital services, with a strong focus on security, resilience, and regulatory compliance. The company is currently strengthening its Cybersecurity and Risk Management capabilities and is seeking an experienced Security Risk Manager to join its CISO Office and support enterprise-wide security risk initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support security risk assessments, including identifying, documenting, and evaluating risks across IT and cybersecurity domains.
  • Participate in project and architecture reviews to assess security risks and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are defined and tracked.
  • Develop, monitor, and follow up on risk treatment plans, ensuring timely implementation and closure of mitigation actions.
  • Maintain and enhance the central risk register to accurately reflect current risk exposure and remediation status.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture through awareness initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration across business and technology teams.
  • Support compliance activities related to security frameworks and regulations, including NIS2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and audit requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security risk management, governance, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong technical understanding of security controls and domains including Network Security, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), Cryptography, and related areas.
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity governance, risk management frameworks, regulatory compliance, and audit programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of security control frameworks, policy management, compliance monitoring, and translating regulatory requirements into operational controls.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is considered an asset.
