Senior AI Cloud Platform Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI Cloud Platform Lead to drive the successful delivery of cloud platform and AI-enabled technology initiatives within a large enterprise environment.

This role serves as the critical link between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating strategic objectives into clear, actionable delivery plans. You will be responsible for ensuring platform initiatives are prioritised, governed, and executed effectively, enabling engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in cloud platforms with proven delivery leadership skills. You will drive alignment across stakeholders, champion best practices in security and compliance, and foster efficient collaboration through structured delivery frameworks and tools such as Jira.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of cloud platform and AI-related initiatives across multiple workstreams
• Translate business requirements into clear user stories, technical deliverables, and prioritised backlogs
• Drive delivery planning, prioritisation, and execution to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Establish effective governance processes and maintain delivery transparency through Jira and Agile methodologies
• Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure successful outcomes
• Ensure adherence to security, privacy, compliance, and data governance standards
• Monitor programme risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones, proactively identifying and mitigating issues
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment and ensure clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences
• Support organisational change management initiatives related to cloud and AI platform adoption
• Promote continuous improvement across platform engineering, operational processes, and delivery practices
• Ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with enterprise architecture, security, and regulatory requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex cloud, platform, or technology delivery programmes
• Strong technical background with hands-on exposure to Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments
• Experience translating business requirements into actionable engineering deliverables
• Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, data privacy, and compliance frameworks
• Experience managing Agile delivery processes, prioritisation, and backlog management
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience operating within enterprise-scale technology environments

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries
• Exposure to SOC (Security Operations Centre) and/or NOC (Network Operations Centre) environments
• Experience delivering cloud transformation, platform modernisation, or AI-driven initiatives
• Agile certifications such as CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, and cloud-native technologies
• Experience supporting organisational change and technology adoption programmes
