Technical Lead – Treasury Platforms (FX & Money Markets)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Treasury Platforms (FX & Money Markets) to support a large-scale treasury transformation programme within a leading banking environment.
The programme has completed its discovery phase and is now entering execution following vendor selection. This role will take technical ownership of the implementation and integration of a new treasury platform, supporting Front Office and Corporate Banking users across Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Market operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end technical delivery, including application deployment, customization, integration, cloud adoption, and migration activities. Working closely with business stakeholders, vendors, architects, and engineering teams, you will ensure successful delivery of the treasury platform while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and integration standards.
This is a highly visible role requiring strong technical leadership, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and extensive experience delivering treasury and core banking technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of treasury platform initiatives covering Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Markets
- Act as the primary technical point of contact between business teams, vendor partners, and technology stakeholders
- Drive application deployment, configuration, customization, and integration activities
- Lead requirements and specification workshops with business and technical stakeholders
- Analyze business processes, system capabilities, and integration touchpoints across treasury and corporate banking ecosystems
- Define and oversee API-based integration strategies between treasury platforms, core banking systems, and surrounding applications
- Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions
- Support migration planning, execution, and post-deployment stabilization activities
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, cloud, security, and governance standards
- Work closely with programme leadership to manage delivery risks, dependencies, and technical challenges
- Review solution designs and integration patterns to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers, analysts, and project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Support Agile delivery practices and maintain clear delivery governance through structured documentation and planning
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise banking technology programmes
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead within treasury, capital markets, corporate banking, or financial services environments
- Strong understanding of Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Market platforms
- Experience implementing, integrating, or supporting treasury management solutions
- Strong expertise in API design, API integration, and API Management platforms
- Experience managing system integration across complex banking ecosystems
- Strong understanding of application deployment, customization, and migration activities
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, integration patterns, and distributed systems
- Experience working alongside vendors, implementation partners, and internal technology teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation capabilities
- Experience preparing functional and technical specifications for implementation teams
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous experience implementing treasury platforms such as FinIQ or similar treasury and capital markets solutions
- Exposure to treasury operations, deal capture, trade processing, and money market workflows
- Experience integrating treasury platforms with core banking systems
- Knowledge of cloud-native integration services and modern API architectures
- Experience working on large-scale banking transformation programmes
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and enterprise governance frameworks
- Experience within regional or international banking institutions
