We are seeking a VMware / Nutanix HCI Infrastructure Resident Engineer with 5+ years of experience in administering, supporting, and maintaining enterprise virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments at a Dubai based client.          

 

1. Engagement Model

·       This position is part of a three-year engagement. Employment will be offered on a one-year renewable contract, with annual renewals based on project continuity, performance, and mutual agreement.

·       Preference will be given to candidates who are immediately available or have a short notice period.

 

·       The selected resource will be deployed as a staff augmentation resource within the client's IT Operations team and will perform duties in accordance with the client's operational procedures, policies, and incident management processes. Working hours, shift schedules, and onsite attendance will be based on the client's operational requirements and direction.

1. Profile Summary

 

The ideal candidate should be VMware / Nutanix HCI Infrastructure Engineer with 5+ years of experience in administering, supporting, and maintaining enterprise virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments. He should possess strong hands-on expertise in VMware and Nutanix platforms, with proven experience managing production environments, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and ensuring high availability and operational stability.

 

1. Mandatory Technical Skills

 

·       Strong hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN environments.

·       Strong hands-on experience administering Nutanix AOS, Prism, and AHV environments.

·       Experience in day-to-day operations, monitoring, administration, and support of enterprise virtualization platforms.

·       Strong knowledge of virtualization, HCI, high availability, disaster recovery, clustering, and performance tuning.

·       Experience managing infrastructure incidents, problem management, root cause analysis, and change implementation.

·       Working knowledge of enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or Dell Data Protection.

·       Good understanding of enterprise storage platforms such as Dell PowerStore/PowerMax, NetApp, HPE, Pure Storage, or equivalent.

·       Experience with patching, upgrades, health checks, capacity planning, and lifecycle management of VMware and Nutanix environments.

·       Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex infrastructure issues.

·       Strong customer handling and stakeholder communication skills.

·       Experience preparing operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

 

1. Preferred Certifications

·       VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

·       Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)

·       Nutanix Certified Systems Engineer (NCSE)

·       ITIL Foundation (preferred)

·       CCNA (desirable)

 

1. Experience Requirements

·       5+ years of experience supporting enterprise virtualization and HCI infrastructure.

·       Experience managing production VMware and Nutanix environments in enterprise data centers.

·       Strong experience in incident management, problem management, change management, and service restoration.

·       Experience performing health checks, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.

·       Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication skills.

·       Ability to work independently and support critical production environments.
