Associate Director, Finance & Accounting Advisory
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Engagement: 12-month contract, with potential extension
We are supporting a major organisation in Abu Dhabi with the appointment of an experienced Associate Director-level finance professional for a complex, project-based engagement.
The successful candidate will lead day-to-day delivery across budgeting, cost allocation and intercompany recharges for centralized corporate functions operating across multiple group entities. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong financial modelling, management reporting and stakeholder-management capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting for centralized corporate costs and associated recharges.
- Manage cost-allocation methodologies, intercompany billing, settlements and periodic true-ups.
- Coordinate team priorities, allocate work, monitor progress and review outputs.
- Develop and challenge financial models supporting allocations, scenarios and management decisions.
- Reconcile financial information across multiple data sources and investigate variances or inconsistencies.
- Produce and review management reports, presentations and supporting analysis.
- Act as a senior counterpart to finance leadership and advise stakeholders on recharge methodologies and financial implications.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes through automation, advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools.
Candidate Profile
- 10+ years’ relevant finance and accounting experience, with the seniority to operate at Associate Director level.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and management-reporting experience.
- Demonstrable expertise in multi-entity cost allocation, corporate recharges and intercompany accounting.
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel capability.
- Experience coordinating finance teams and reviewing the quality of financial outputs.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and complex group structures.
- Practical experience using automation, analytics or AI-enabled tools to improve finance delivery.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
