Delivery Lead – Banking Transformation & AI Programmes
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Lead to drive the successful delivery of large-scale banking transformation and AI-enabled programmes within a complex enterprise environment.
This senior leadership role requires a proven track record of managing strategic initiatives across business and technology functions, ensuring alignment between organisational objectives and delivery outcomes. The successful candidate will lead large, cross-functional teams, manage senior stakeholders, and oversee the execution of complex transformation programmes from inception through to delivery.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in banking transformation programmes, combined with strong leadership, governance, and stakeholder management capabilities. Experience delivering AI, digital, data, or technology transformation initiatives within the banking sector is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale banking transformation and AI-enabled programmes
- Define programme strategy, governance frameworks, delivery plans, and execution roadmaps
- Manage multiple workstreams and cross-functional teams across business, technology, operations, and risk functions
- Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to align programme objectives with strategic priorities
- Drive programme governance, including executive reporting, risk management, dependency management, and issue resolution
- Ensure successful delivery of complex initiatives within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Oversee programme planning, prioritisation, resource management, and delivery performance
- Facilitate effective collaboration between business, product, architecture, engineering, and operations teams
- Drive business adoption, organisational change management, and value realisation across transformation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, governance requirements, and enterprise standards
- Monitor programme KPIs, milestones, and outcomes, providing clear updates to executive leadership
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in programme delivery, transformation management, or technology leadership roles
- Proven experience delivering large-scale banking transformation programmes
- Experience leading AI, Digital, Data, Cloud, or Enterprise Technology initiatives within banking environments
- Strong understanding of banking operations, regulatory frameworks, and transformation challenges
- Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise programmes involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage executive-level audiences
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong programme governance, planning, and risk management expertise
- Experience managing large cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working within highly regulated environments
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience within leading regional or international banking institutions
- Exposure to AI, Advanced Analytics, Data Platforms, or Digital Banking transformation programmes
- Certification in Programme Management, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, PMP, or related disciplines
- Experience managing enterprise-scale transformation portfolios
- Strong understanding of change management and business adoption frameworks
- Master's degree in Business, Technology, Finance, or a related field preferred
