A large, international organisation operating in a highly regulated environment, providing critical digital and infrastructure services to a wide range of stakeholders. The company is strengthening its cyber security capabilities and is looking to enhance its threat detection and monitoring practices within endpoint environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain detection use cases across endpoint environments, with a focus on Unix-based operating systems
- Analyse security logs and telemetry data to identify suspicious activity and translate findings into actionable detection rules
- Continuously improve detection quality by tuning rules, reducing false positives, and enhancing overall visibility
- Collaborate closely with security operations teams to align detection capabilities with real-world threats and incidents
- Contribute to expanding logging, monitoring coverage, and overall detection maturity
- Apply structured threat frameworks to develop consistent and effective detection strategies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex security data and identify meaningful patterns
- Solid understanding of endpoint systems (particularly Unix/Linux-based environments) or experience in cyber security / threat detection
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Team-oriented attitude with experience working in collaborative, operational environments
- Knowledge of scripting or pattern-matching techniques (e.g. shell scripting, regular expressions) is an advantage
- Structured and detail-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset
