IT & Solution Architect (m/f/d)

We are seeking an experienced IT and Solution Architect with strong expertise in enterprise and solution architecture to support complex, large-scale information systems within European Institutions or other EU bodies. The role is primarily focused on architecture design, specification, and documentation, ensuring full alignment with EU governance frameworks, regulatory constraints, and architectural standards.
Responsibilities:
· Design end-to-end solution architectures (logical, functional, and physical layers) for complex systems based on Java, microservices, system integration, and secure APIs
· Produce formal, structured, and compliant architecture documentation aligned with European Institutions’ governance frameworks and standards
· Deliver architecture studies, solution blueprints, and feasibility assessments, addressing regulatory, security, and compliance constraints
· Model and document architectures using ArchiMate, UML, and C4, producing coherent component, data flow, deployment, and security diagrams
· Lead architectural decision-making through structured trade-off analysis and define detailed technical specifications covering functional and non-functional requirements
· Ensure effective knowledge transfer to delivery teams through clear, reusable, and audit-ready architecture documentation
Qualifications and Skills:
· Strong expertise in enterprise and solution architecture for large-scale, complex information systems
· Advanced technical knowledge of Java-based applications, microservices architectures, system integration, and secure API design
· Proven experience working with European Institutions or other EU bodies, with solid understanding of their governance, regulatory, and architecture frameworks
· Advanced proficiency in architecture modelling and diagramming using ArchiMate, UML, and C4
· Strong capability in producing formal, standards-compliant architecture documentation, including solution blueprints, architecture studies, and feasibility assessments
· Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex architectural decisions into clear, reusable, and audit-ready documentation
