VBA Consultant - Part Time (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior VBA freelancer to work part-time at our client, an EU Institution based in Luxembourg.
1. Support Services
o Support several end user computing applications (the “EUCA”s), i.e., VBA and Python applications, macros, and PowerBI dashboards for the different divisions;
o Maintain customer relationships within different divisions, manage the change process and ensure smooth communication;
o Act as a change agent to help facilitate effective deployments/modifications to new and current industry practices;
o Identify risks and liaise on issues related to changes;
o Work with the subject matter experts to gather business requirements and any other relevant input.
2. Tasks
o Develop new required features in the VBA / Python applications/macros and PowerBI dashboards;
o Follow up on deliverables related to these applications with internal and external parties;
o Prepare documents to support internal decision making, testing or training material;
o Develop and execute an internal communication plan for changes and new features to the business;
o Perform testing, change management documentation and support the deployment of the technology and hand over to production support;
o Ensure all material is stored on the client's SharePoint environment for audit purposes;
o Support other division related tasks as applicable such as organizing and running meetings;
o Develop agendas, prepare minutes, follow up on open actions, identifying risk and issues with
appropriate mitigating actions;
o Participate in handover of VBA, Java, and SQL applications and their corresponding
documentation;
o Participate in handover of development and change management processes;
o Provide handover protocol to document the completeness of handover tasks.
3. Deliverables
The Consultant will be responsible for providing the following deliverables to the client:
o Produce files in MS Office formats including the project VBA code, if applicable;
o Complete reliable functional and technical documentation about the implemented functionality;
o Perform test management;
o Create and execute relevant test cases, demonstrating the expected behavior in terms of requirements fulfillment and software quality;
o Create training material, conduct trainings if necessary, and other change management material as needed to support the change management process;
o Manage internal and external communication.
4. Requirements
Technical skills
o Bachelor’s degree in information technology, data science, or equivalent degree/experience.
o 7+ years of direct experience with similar and relevant IT projects.
o Development and rollout experience with VBA and MS Office Macros (Access & Excel).
o Good understanding of modern IT architecture.
o Good understanding of and experience with: SQL, XML, XSLT.
o Good project management skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
o Experience in providing reporting and other communications at a senior management level.
o Ability to document clear and complete business requirements.
o Experience with Microsoft Azure.
o Professional experience with PowerBI and/or Microsoft Fabric.
o Experience in the financial services industry.
o Experience with the following financial IT systems: SWIFT, Murex, Bloomberg.
Soft-skills
o Proven customer-oriented change management communication skills.
o Excellent communication and presentation skills.
o Excellent organizational skills.
o Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
