Microsoft Azure Application Architect (m/f/d)

A major enterprise currently undergoing a large-scale digital transformation aimed at modernizing its applications, cloud platforms, and operating model. The organization is seeking an Application Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native application solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the lead architect for cloud-native application design, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security baselines, and governance practices.
• Collaborate with application, platform, and engineering teams to design and deploy cloud-native applications using microservices, API‑driven integrations, and managed platform services.
• Provide architectural direction across application hosting, identity integration, secure networking, monitoring, and threat protection to support enterprise-scale solutions.
• Support modernization and transformation programmes by ensuring application designs remain consistent, scalable, and secure through iterative delivery cycles.
• Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to align application architectures with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
• Guide service transition and readiness activities by ensuring required documentation, operational models, and support procedures are in place for smooth deployment and ongoing support.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong understanding of cloud application architecture, including application lifecycle management, dependency mapping, and modernization techniques.
• Experience designing and integrating applications using cloud-native principles, microservices patterns, and secure identity integration.
• Solid foundational knowledge of cloud platform services such as identity, networking, monitoring, and hybrid integration.
• Familiarity with regulatory, security, and compliance requirements typical of controlled and highly regulated environments.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams across regions and operating within structured governance and design assurance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to balance security, scalability, and user experience throughout the application lifecycle.
