Python (Backend) Developer

Client Overview:
A technology‑driven organisation focused on building scalable, modern digital solutions is seeking a skilled Python (Backend) Developer with fluent Dutch to join their growing engineering team in Amsterdam. Responsibilities

Backend Development

• Develop, maintain, and optimise backend services using Python and related frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑structured code that meets industry best practices.

API & Microservices

• Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Integrate backend components with internal and external systems.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) principles to ensure high code quality.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning across applications.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Collaborate on cloud deployments using platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Work with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to support scalable deployments.

Development Practices

• Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and CI/CD pipeline workflows.
• Implement domain‑driven development principles where appropriate.

Collaboration & Innovation

• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in knowledge‑sharing activities including meetups, training sessions, and internal engineering discussions.

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Python development in backend or full‑stack environments.
• Proficiency with Python frameworks such as Django and/or Flask.
• Hands‑on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices (CI/CD).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Passionate about Python and backend engineering with a drive for continuous learning.
