Job Description:

Role Summary:
The WAN Link Migration SME will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the migration of WAN connectivity between existing client data centers. The role focuses on design validation, migration execution, testing, and issue resolution across multiple service providers and platforms, ensuring zero business impact and seamless network cutover.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Serve as the primary technical authority for WAN link migration and cutover activities.
•    Validate WAN design and topology, including link diversity, routing policies, and redundancy.
•    Review and confirm interface configurations, IP schema, VLAN assignments, and routing updates provided by the client vendor.
•    Coordinate directly with:
o    THE CLIENT Network & Infrastructure teams
o    WAN Vendors & service providers (SITA, ARINC,E& etc)
o    Vendor partners
o    Internal Kyndryl engineers for configuration deployment
•    Conduct pre-migration readiness checks, link activation tests, and failover simulations along with the client vendors.
•    Support cutover execution along with the client vendor during migration windows, ensuring circuit switchover without service degradation.
•    Provide L3-level troubleshooting during and after cutover along with the client vendor; validate link stability and routing convergence.
•    Maintain and update the WAN connectivity matrix, link inventory, and post-migration documentation.
•    Review cabling and port mapping in coordination with DC implementation teams.
•    Support the PM with technical input for risk identification and mitigation.
•    Participate in technical reviews, CAB meetings and validation walkthroughs.

Required Technical Expertise:
•    Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise WAN/LAN design, implementation, or migration.
•    Deep knowledge of Cisco Catalyst 8500 series (C8500L-8S4X) and knowledge in Juniper QFX5120/QFX5110, and ADVA FSP 3000.
•    Understanding of:
o    MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VRF, and QoS
o    Optical link provisioning and dual-path connectivity
o    Network failover & redundancy mechanisms
•    Proven track record in data center or network migration projects involving multi-vendor environments.
•    Experience working with Telcos for circuit activation and testing (preferred).

Soft Skills & Attributes:
•    Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills under time-sensitive windows.
•    Effective communicator with ability to coordinate across multiple technical and operational teams.
•    Strong ownership mindset with focus on delivery quality and technical precision.
•    Willingness to work during migration cutover windows (after-hours / weekends) when required.

Preferred Certifications:
•    Cisco CCNP / CCIE (Enterprise / Service Provider)
•    Juniper JNCIP / JNCIE
•    ITIL Foundation for change process awareness
