Database Administrator – Cloud Platforms

Responsibilities:

• Administer cloud database platforms including provisioning, upgrades, patching, backup, and recovery operations.
• Design and maintain high availability and disaster recovery configurations to meet business continuity requirements.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning activities.
• Implement database security controls including access management, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
• Automate database operations where feasible and maintain thorough operational procedures and documentation.
• Support production incidents and lead root cause analysis for database-related service disruptions.
• Collaborate with application, security, and operations teams to align database services with broader platform goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases in cloud environments.
• Proven expertise in backup, recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
• Experience with automation and scripting for database operations and routine tasks.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on data integrity and platform stability.
• Ability to communicate risks, capacity concerns, and impacts clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaborative working style with experience engaging across application, security, and operations teams.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for database service reliability and recoverability.
