Principal AI Engineer – Fullstack

A leading enterprise organisation is expanding its AI and digital engineering capabilities to deliver scalable, intelligent, and secure solutions across the business. The organisation is seeking a Principal AI Engineer – Fullstack to design, build, and lead the development of end-to-end AI-driven applications, combining advanced machine learning with robust fullstack engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and build fullstack AI-powered applications from concept through production.
• Lead the development and deployment of machine learning and generative AI models into real-world systems.
• Design scalable back-end services and APIs to support AI workloads and data pipelines.
• Develop responsive, user-focused front-end experiences that integrate AI-driven capabilities.
• Embed best practices for security, performance, scalability, and maintainability across the stack.
• Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, technical standards, and architectural governance.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and platform teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Proactively identify technical risks and improvement opportunities, driving innovation and continuous optimization.
• Act as a technical leader and mentor, supporting the growth and capability of engineering teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong experience building fullstack applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
• Hands-on expertise in AI/ML development, including model training, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures and services supporting AI and data-intensive workloads.
• Solid understanding of data engineering, APIs, and system integration patterns.
• Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and high-performance production systems.
• Strong accountability for technical quality, reliability, and delivery outcomes.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for innovation and emerging AI technologies.
