We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a major European institution in Luxembourg. The successful candidate will play a key role in the evolution, enhancement, and optimisation of a large-scale enterprise application (Advisory Services Application – ASApp) supporting advisory and technical assistance operations across multiple business units. 

This role focuses on business analysis, functional design, testing, and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment between IT solutions and business needs, regulatory requirements, and governance standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

Business Analysis & Requirements Management 

• Gather, analyse, and prioritise business requirements across multiple stakeholders and mandates 

• Perform “as-is” and “to-be” analysis of business processes and workflows 

• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and optimisation opportunities 

• Translate business needs into clear, structured functional and technical specifications 

Functional Design & Documentation 

• Produce detailed functional documentation, including:  

• Use cases and user stories 

• Process flows and workflow diagrams 

• Data models and field definitions 

• Business rules, alerts, and system behaviours 

• Define system functionalities, screen layouts, and access rights 

• Ensure consistency and completeness across different business domains  

Testing & Quality Assurance 

• Define and execute test strategies, test plans, and test cases 

• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) 

• Track and manage defects (e.g., via JIRA) 

• Validate reporting outputs, analytics, and system functionalities 

• Ensure formal sign-off from stakeholders following successful testing  

Data, Reporting & Governance 

• Contribute to data warehouse and reporting enhancements 

• Define reporting requirements and KPIs 

• Ensure adherence to data governance standards 

• Support development of business intelligence capabilities 

Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Support 

• Drive continuous improvement of workflows and processes 

• Contribute to the product roadmap and future enhancements 

• Support regulatory and governance-related changes 

• Collaborate closely with business users, IT teams, and senior stakeholders 

Training & Knowledge Transfer 

• Prepare user documentation and training materials 

• Deliver user training and coaching sessions 

• Ensure effective knowledge transfer and adoption of new functionalities  

Required Skills & Experience 

Professional Experience 

• Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in enterprise-scale IT environments 

• Strong background in:  

• Business requirements gathering and analysis 

• Functional and technical specification writing 

• Software testing and validation 

• Experience working on complex applications and workflows 

• Familiarity with data warehouse, reporting tools, or BI solutions (e.g., Business Objects is a plus)  

Methodologies & Tools 

• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies 

• Knowledge of tools such as JIRA or similar 

• Understanding of data governance and reporting frameworks

Education & Language
