Business Analyst - Open Finance 

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a leading financial services organisation, supporting strategic transformation and digital banking initiatives.

This role is responsible for bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring business requirements are translated into effective, scalable, and compliant solutions. The successful candidate will possess strong banking domain expertise, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to drive business outcomes through process improvement, requirements analysis, and solution delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within banking or financial services environments, with exposure to customer onboarding, customer lifecycle management, digital banking, and regulatory frameworks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, epics, user stories, process flows, and business requirements documents (BRDs)
  • Act as the key liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Architects, and QA teams to support successful project delivery
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including planning, execution, and business sign-off
  • Analyse and optimise existing business processes, customer journeys, and operational workflows
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including BRDs, process maps, use cases, and business impact assessments
  • Ensure solutions align with regulatory requirements, governance standards, and business objectives
  • Contribute to initiatives involving customer onboarding, KYC, customer lifecycle management, and digital transformation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency across banking products and services
  • Support Agile and Waterfall delivery teams through backlog refinement, requirement clarification, and stakeholder engagement

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Retail Banking and/or Corporate Banking
    • Digital Banking Platforms
    • Customer Onboarding and KYC Processes
    • Customer Lifecycle Management
    • Core Banking Systems
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution design
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Jira
    • Confluence
    • Microsoft Excel
    • SQL
  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within UAE banking institutions or international corporate environments
  • Knowledge of Open Banking, Banking APIs, FinTech integrations, and digital banking ecosystems
  • Exposure to enterprise-wide digital transformation programmes
  • Professional certifications such as:
    • CBAP
    • CCBA
    • PMI-PBA
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
    • Equivalent Business Analysis certifications
  • Experience across the full customer journey, including onboarding, servicing, retention, and lifecycle optimisation
  • Familiarity with banking regulatory requirements and governance frameworks
