Network Security Specialist (m/f/d)

Our client is a large international organisation operating within a highly sensitive and security-driven environment.
To support ongoing security initiatives, they are looking for a Network Security Specialist to strengthen their capabilities in protecting web applications and critical infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.

Responsibilities:
· Analyse existing network and security configurations and recommend improvements
· Implement and maintain security controls across network and application layers
· Deploy and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions
· Configure and optimise firewall features (IPS, antivirus, application control, filtering, traffic protection, encryption handling)
· Support the deployment and management of DDoS protection mechanisms
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network security, firewall and application protection layers
· Produce and maintain technical documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
· Collaborate closely with infrastructure, cloud, application and security teams

Qualifications and Skills:
· Proven experience in network and application security
· Strong knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure
· Solid understanding of security principles and best practices
· Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall technologies (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet or equivalent)
· Strong expertise in Web Application Firewalls (WAF) (Imperva, F5 or similar)
· Experience working with proxy solutions in enterprise environments
· Exposure to cloud security concepts (Azure, AWS or similar)
· Relevant security certifications are highly valued
