The Odoo ERP Technical Lead is responsible for the end-to-end technical ownership of the Odoo ERP platform, covering both the application and infrastructure domains. The role leads the technical design, development, customization, integration, deployment, and support of the Odoo environment, while also overseeing the underlying hosting infrastructure including Ubuntu servers, PostgreSQL databases, Nginx, and related components.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that the Odoo ERP platform is secure, scalable, high-performing, resilient, and aligned with the organization’s business and technology objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end technical design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Odoo ERP platform.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain custom Odoo modules, workflows, server actions, reports, and enhancements using Python and the Odoo framework.
• Manage and oversee Odoo application architecture, technical configurations, and platform dependencies across development, test, UAT, and production environments.
• Lead the design and maintenance of integrations between Odoo and internal/external systems using APIs, middleware, and approved integration methods.
• Oversee and support the Odoo infrastructure stack, including Ubuntu/Linux servers, PostgreSQL databases, Nginx/reverse proxy services, storage, and related platform components.
• Ensure the ERP platform maintains high availability, performance, security, and scalability through proper design, tuning, monitoring, and technical governance.
• Manage technical aspects of deployment, release management, patching, upgrades, environment refreshes, and version migrations.
• Oversee database performance tuning, backup and restore processes, disaster recovery readiness, and system resilience for the Odoo ERP environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application, integration, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Define and enforce technical standards for development, coding practices, deployment controls, system documentation, security, and change management.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and provide technical guidance on system capabilities, constraints, and design decisions.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, implementation partners, and internal IT teams to ensure successful delivery and support of ERP services.
• Maintain technical documentation including system architecture diagrams, integration specifications, configuration baselines, deployment procedures, and support runbooks.
• Guide, mentor, and provide technical direction to ERP technical resources, including developers and infrastructure/support engineers.

Threshold Qualifications

• Academic: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Certification: Official Odoo Technical Certification is preferred. Additional certifications in Linux administration, PostgreSQL, cloud/infrastructure, or DevOps are an advantage.
• Software Skills: Strong hands-on expertise in Python, Odoo framework, PostgreSQL, XML, QWeb, JavaScript/OWL, Linux/Ubuntu administration, and Nginx.
• Tools & Platforms: Experience with Git/GitHub, deployment/version control practices, monitoring tools, backup tools, and enterprise ERP hosting environments.
• Network Knowledge: Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, VPN, firewall concepts, SSL/TLS certificates, and secure application publishing.
