QA Engineer – Healthcare Applications (EMR/HL7)

  • 2 year extendable contract

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our Healthcare Technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of healthcare applications through manual and automated testing. This role requires hands-on experience testing healthcare systems, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) platforms and healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to validate complex healthcare workflows, integrations, APIs, and patient data exchanges while maintaining the highest quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies based on business and technical requirements. 
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, API, and performance testing of healthcare applications. 
  • Validate EMR/EHR workflows, patient records, clinical documentation, scheduling, admissions, and billing processes.
  • Test healthcare data integrations utilizing HL7 v2.x, HL7 messaging, FHIR APIs, and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress
  • Conduct API testing using Postman and other API validation tools. 
  • Validate inbound and outbound healthcare data exchange between clinical and non-clinical systems.
  • Perform performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter, k6, or similar platforms
  • Identify, document, and track defects using Jira and collaborate with development teams on resolution. 
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data quality, privacy, and security requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or QA Automation.
  • Experience testing healthcare applications, EMR/EHR systems, or Health Information Exchange (HIE) platforms.
  • Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR, healthcare integrations, and healthcare data workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress automation frameworks. 
  • Experience with API testing using Postman
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and defect management processes.
  • Experience using Jira or similar test and defect management tools.
