We are looking for two Storage and Backup Engineers on Cloud to join our client, an EU Institution in Brussels.
Responsibilities
- Administration of ICT system components related to hosting services
- Installation, configuration and upgrade of ICT systems
- Daily administration of systems to ensure service continuity, security, recovery, and performance needs are met
- Investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of system related issues
- Installation, upgrades and testing, of infrastructure software, including monitoring solutions
- Planning and scheduling of installations to minimize disruptions
- Analysis of storage environment and formulation of recommendations for optimisation and improvement
- Compliance with organisational procedures to ensure integrity and security of the system
- Install, maintain and support the organisation data center hardware infrastructure (servers, enclosure, UPS, patch panel, tape library, cabling, etc.).
- Upgrade and configure NetApp system including METROCLUSTER
- Managing EMC VMAX/PMAX. HDS, HP and IBM< storage system
- Managing Pure Storage
- Building VMware vSphere clusters
- Managing Backup infrastructure NetBackup and with Veritas Pure Disk Appliance
Requirements
- Proven experience in systems administration within complex ICT environments (data centers / hosting services)
- Strong expertise in storage solutions, including NetApp (MetroCluster), EMC VMAX/PMAX, Pure Storage, HDS and IBM/HP systems
- Solid hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere
- Experience managing backup and recovery solutions, especially NetBackup and Veritas appliances
- Good knowledge of infrastructure hardware (servers, cabling, UPS, patch panels, tape libraries, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills in high-availability environments
- Familiarity with system security, performance optimization and operational best practices
