About the Role

This role is responsible for the end-to-end operation of a large-scale data generation environment where humanoid robots perform real-world tasks to create high-quality datasets used for training advanced AI and robotic systems. 

As the Technical Lead, you will be accountable for the entire operation, including humanoid robot performance, data collection pipelines, quality assurance processes, technical teams, vendor management, and customer delivery. This is a highly hands-on leadership position requiring both technical depth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for robot, teleoperation, and data collection issues.
• Diagnose and resolve humanoid robot hardware and software faults.
• Troubleshoot data capture failures, synchronization issues, and quality concerns.
• Identify root causes of operational failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency of the robotics fleet. 
• Design, manage, and optimize the end-to-end data collection pipeline, including:
  • Data capture
  • Synchronization
  • Storage
  • Validation
  • Quality Assurance
  • Packaging and customer delivery
• Define data schemas, metadata standards, and collection specifications.
• Implement automated validation and quality control processes to ensure customer acceptance standards are met.
• Manage infrastructure requirements including compute, networking, and storage environments.
• Build and manage multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineers, operators, and QA specialists.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data collection and validation activities.
• Establish training and certification programs for operational teams.
• Monitor performance metrics including throughput, quality, utilization, and productivity.
• Mentor technical staff and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
• Translate customer data requirements into internal operational processes and acceptance criteria.

• Act as the primary technical contact for customer engagements and technical reviews.
• Lead discussions regarding data quality, delivery milestones, and acceptance testing.
• Manage relationships with robotics vendors and outsourced partners.
• Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and operational commitments are consistently achieved. 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with substantial hands-on exposure to robotics systems and/or large-scale data operations.
• Strong technical expertise in humanoid robotics platforms and robotic systems diagnostics.
• Experience working with ROS/ROS2 environments.
• Proven experience designing and managing data collection, data generation, or AI training data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Data formats and schema design
  • Validation frameworks
  • Data storage solutions
  • Quality assurance methodologies
• Experience leading technical and operational teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.
• Fluent Mandarin Chinese and professional English communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Abu Dhabi.
