Test Leader (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Testing Leader to work for our client, a private bank based in Luxembourg. It would be either on site in Luxembourg or remotely from our Greek office in Athens. The person will be responsible for defining, coordinating, and supervising all testing activities across IT systems and banking applications, ensuring that changes, enhancements, and new implementations meet business requirements, regulatory standards, and quality expectations.
 

Responsibilities 

  • Define and maintain the overall testing strategy, methodology, and governance. 

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all testing phases (SIT, UAT, regression, and production validation). 

  • Lead and mentor testers, ensuring effective workload allocation and timely delivery. 

  • Act as the main point of contact between IT, business users, vendors, and external partners for testing-related activities. 

  • Review business and functional requirements to ensure testability. 

  • Ensure appropriate test coverage for critical banking systems (e.g. payments, securities, core banking). 

  • Monitor testing progress, identify risks, and escalate issues when necessary. 

  • Ensure defects are properly documented, tracked, and resolved in line with agreed SLAs. 

  • Oversee test environments and test data readiness. 

  • Support audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements related to system testing. 

  • Prepare and present test status reports to stakeholders and senior management. 

  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and documentation. 

 

Requirements 

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in software testing within a banking or financial services environment. 

  • Previous experience as a Test Lead or Testing Manager is required. 

  • Fluent in English. 

  • Strong understanding of banking operations, preferably in Payments (SEPA, SWIFT, ISO 20022) and/or Securities / Treasury / Back‑Office processes. 

  • Experience testing core banking systems (e.g. Temenos T24) will be considered a strong advantage. 

  • Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, defect lifecycle, and quality assurance best practices. 

  • Experience working in waterfall and/or agile environments. 

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (advanced Excel is a plus). 

  • Experience with test management or defect tracking tools will be an advantage.
