Senior / Lead .Net Mobile App Developer - £75,000 - £85,000 - Fully Remote

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior / Lead .NET Backend Developer to join our mobile applications development team. This role will provide technical leadership in the design, development, and optimisation of backend services and APIs that support modern mobile and enterprise applications.

Working within a high-performing engineering environment at a leading staffing company, the successful candidate will act as both a technical authority and strategic advisor, helping guide the development of robust, secure, and scalable backend solutions.

This role is fully remote, however applicants must be based in the United Kingdom.

While the role is ideally suited to a Lead .NET Developer, we would also consider an experienced Senior .NET Developer who is ready to step into a leadership role.

The position will also involve mentoring and supporting two .NET engineers, helping elevate engineering standards and best practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of scalable backend services and APIs supporting mobile applications.

Architect secure, high-performance API solutions using C#, .NET, and Azure.

Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across the mobile backend stack.

Collaborate closely with mobile developers, product teams, and platform engineers.

Ensure best practices in API design, security, and performance optimisation.

Mentor and support two .NET engineers, helping develop their technical capabilities.

Contribute to technical strategy and platform evolution within the mobile applications ecosystem.

Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision making.

Maintain high standards around testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong professional experience developing backend services using C# and .NET.

Proven experience developing APIs for mobile applications.

Strong experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.

Experience building cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Strong understanding of API security, authentication, and performance optimisation.

Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Experience mentoring developers or contributing to technical leadership.

Excellent problem-solving and system design skills.

Desirable Skills
Experience supporting high-scale mobile platforms.

Knowledge of Azure Functions, App Services, or serverless architectures.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience working with enterprise-scale systems.

Understanding of mobile application architecture and mobile backend patterns.
