Systems & Cloud Operations Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Systems & Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and support hybrid infrastructure across on-premise and Microsoft Azure environments. This role focuses on ensuring system reliability, security, and performance, while leveraging automation and AI tools to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain infrastructure across data centre and Azure environments
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security
- Support business-critical applications and databases
- Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, application, and network layers
- Provide Level 1–2 IT support, including user access and device management
- Administer backups, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery processes
- Implement security best practices (firewalls, VPNs, access controls)
- Use automation and AI tools to improve monitoring, troubleshooting, and operations
Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or cloud operations
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux and Microsoft Azure
- Good understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and virtualization
- Experience supporting applications and databases (SQL/NoSQL)
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Grafana, ELK)
- Experience working in regulated or production environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed or edge environments (e.g., kiosks)
- Exposure to high-availability systems
- Knowledge of compliance or regulatory frameworks
