Technical Platform Manager

Client:
A global, publicly traded energy technology and services company delivering integrated solutions for traditional and new energy.

We are seeking a Platform Manager to own and lead a global infrastructure platform domain (e.g., Data Centre, Cloud, or Database). This role is accountable for defining the technology strategy, operating model, and global standards, while ensuring platforms are operationally effective, cost‑efficient, and future‑ready.

Job Description:

The Platform Manager acts as the technical and operational authority for their domain, working closely with architecture, operations, security, and transformation teams.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Governance

• Own the global strategy and roadmap for the assigned infrastructure domain
• Define and maintain technology standards, architectures, and tooling
• Assess whether current technologies are fit for purpose and recommend upgrades or replacements
• Evaluate and respond to emerging and disruptive technologies

Operational Oversight

• Ensure platforms are stable, secure, and operated correctly by global operations teams
• Design and evolve operating models, covering both technical and operational aspects
• Drive continuous improvement in reliability, performance, and service quality

Technology & Cost Management

• Balance innovation with cost effectiveness and operational efficiency
• Ensure infrastructure choices align with business demand and scale
• Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to optimize value

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as the key platform point of contact for global IT and business stakeholders
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across regions and teams

Technical Environment

• Microsoft‑centric environment
• Azure cloud platform
• VMware virtualization
• Windows‑based infrastructure
• Citrix for desktop and application delivery
• Hybrid landscape with on‑prem data centres and cloud services

Required Experience & Profile

• 10+ years experience in infrastructure platforms (data centre, cloud, or database)
• 3 years managerial experience
• Pragmatic, solution‑driven, and autonomous
