Role Overview
As a Consultant within the Aerospace & Defense practice, you will lead strategic initiatives across engineering, procurement, and supply chain domains. You will be responsible for evaluating technical specifications, driving cost optimization, managing supplier relationships, and shaping contract strategies across global entities.
Consultant Profile Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, cost modeling, and supplier management.
- Engineering Expertise: Strong background in evaluating component-level specifications across electronics, software, mechanics, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Analytical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in cost modeling, benchmarking, and forecasting using tools such as Excel, SAP, Power BI, and SQL.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven exposure to the defense and aerospace sectors, with deep market intelligence and competitive benchmarking capabilities.
- Contract Leadership: Demonstrated success in contract management and negotiation at both group and global levels.
- Mobility: Ability to travel to Abu Dhabi and work onsite with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead spend analysis and develop 3–5 year forecasts.
- Identify high-value categories, duplication, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing and supplier consolidation strategies.
- Negotiate improved commercial terms.
- Introduce demand management practices to reduce waste and non-essential spend.
- Prioritize suppliers by spend, criticality, and risk exposure.
- Conduct supply market analysis.
- Benchmark competitors and assess sourcing models and technology access.
- Develop standardized supplier evaluation frameworks.
- Implement supplier scorecards and performance reviews.
- Launch Supplier Relationship Management programs and innovation initiatives.
- Ensure due diligence and compliance checks (financial, regulatory, sustainability).
- Drive localization and buffer stock strategies.
- Integrate Supplier Risk Management protocols.
- Define and implement inventory strategies by material category.
- Establish buffer stock policies by subcategory to mitigate supply risks.
